Storefront lead times

The date on your product page comes from your production data, not a guess.

Last updated

A customer deciding whether to buy a made-to-order product wants one thing before they add it to cart: when will this actually ship?

Most Shopify stores answer that with a static line someone in marketing wrote once and never revisited. Orderkraft answers it from the same data the production floor works off: the production time and dock-to-stock time set on the product’s bill of materials.

Change how long something actually takes to build, and the number on the product page changes with it, automatically. There’s no second place to update, which means there’s no way for the storefront promise and the production reality to quietly drift apart.

It shows up as a block on the product page, not a theme rewrite. Add it where it makes sense for your store, and it reads straight from production.

Questions

What is a lead time actually made of?
Production time plus dock-to-stock time. How long it takes to build, plus how long it takes to arrive and be ready to ship once it's built.
What happens when I change my production time?
Every lead time reading from that bill of materials updates immediately. There's no separate place to keep a storefront promise in sync with reality; it's the same number.
Does this need a theme change?
It ships as a theme app extension block you add to the product page. No custom theme code.
